Michael Mina’s Bourbon Steak

It all started when the President of my company, Steve, recommended the chef’s Michelin-starred and namesake restaurant Michael Mina when I was preparing for a trip to Las Vegas. We went and enjoyed the tasting menu, which included the famous Ahi Tuna Tartare, Lobster Pot Pie, and Root Beer Float, and vowed to one day return for more.

Michael Mina has finally brought Bourbon Steak to LA! The Chef serves up quality and consistently good food with a nice relaxing atmosphere in his 18th restaurant, located at the Americana at Brand in Glendale. Lined with dark wood and leather seats, the restaurant also has jazz nights for those who wish to enjoy their steak and duckfat fries over live music.

My husband and I enjoyed a splendid 3-hour-long dinner with wine connoisseur, Steve, and his beautiful wife, Marty. The highlight of the evening, aside from the great company, were the wines from Steve’s cellars. We started with a fantastic 2009 Peter Michael Chardonnay, followed by a silky smooth 2005 Hundred Acre Cabernet. I couldn’t imagine better wines to enjoy with our delicious 32-ounce Porterhouse steak dinner.
